Notwithstanding the fact that the fanciest and exquisite fashion shows occur in Paris, a world-acknowledged center of fashion and style, London is a host of no less stunning and impressive exhibitions. They usually welcome both designers and fashion enthusiasts, eager to examine new clothing trends, accessories and jewelry, shoes and what so ever. The world of fashion is truly unique, and every new season cannot but amaze with intricate and daring developments. Therefore, in 2013 London is likely to be a host of several exciting fashion exhibitions.

Since 1998 London hosts PURE exhibitions twice a year, which are major fashion fairs in the United Kingdom. This year summer PURE exhibition will occur on August 4-6th in Olympia Exhibition Centre. About 13 thousand buyers from 70 countries attend this show annually, either from the nearest European states or overseas. The entire arrangement is a nice opportunity for shopping lovers to meet owners and authorities of large stores’ networks, fashion specialists and designers, as well as to enjoy vivid catwalks of world-known clothing brands.

It is impossible not to mention Bellville Sassoon exhibition, which will open on September 20th in Fashion and Textiles Museum. In very deed, it is the most awaited fashion show! Bellville Sassoon is a beloved clothing brand of famous actresses and female politicians of the 20th century, among which one can recognize Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy. The exhibition is going to demonstrate 150 masterpieces of clothes that were in trend over the last 60 years. Bellville Sassoon is one of the few brands that can boast of creating outfits intended for members of the royal family (though, except of the Queen). The most famous client of the House was Diana, Princess of Wales. The sketches of dresses with details, invented by princess, as well as her marks on them, contribute to Bellville Sassoon exhibition.

The adherence of English fashion to royalty might be observed this summer on two specific exhibitions in Buckingham and Kensington Palaces. In the first one visitors will get a chance to examine “The Art of Tudor and Stuart Fashion”, which is going to be a real travel in time up to the 16th century. It was an epoch of luxury, when fashion followed alterations of taste and comfortable livelihood. The exhibition will open on May 6th and is planned till October 10th.

Outfits of all the princesses and queens of the 20th century will be shown in Kensington Palace. The main characters are: Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Margaret and Princess Diane. In particular, this exhibition will emphasize Princess Diana style of 1980-90s, which is why the whole event is called “Diana: Glimpses of a Modern Princess”. It has already started on March 26th and will last till November 4th.

While speaking of fashion shows and exhibitions in the capital of the UK, London Fashion Week should be mentioned without any hesitations. Perhaps, this event attracts the most attention of mass media, press, icons of fashion design and simply fashionmongers. At present, London Fashion Week is organized in Somerset House, one of the architect marvels of the city. Anyway, it is one of the “Big Four” fashion weeks in the world, alongside Milano, Paris and New York. During the year designers of famous brands are working on new collections, while visitors hurry up to register for the closest catwalk show of the London Fashion Week.
