Travel in style around the world

When we book our getaways, packing is centred around the destinations we are heading to. Whether it be a sun-filled escape or a bustling city vacation, somehow we always manage to incorporate the culture of the destination, while still reflecting practicality and our own personalities. We have compiled a list of 5 outfits which offer great options when heading away, whether you’re planning on sipping cocktails in New York, sightseeing in Paris or lying on a beach in Thailand.

Here’s how to travel in style around the world!

SAILING AROUND THE GREEK ISLANDS

Greece look

White Tibi tank – £105.96, Gaby Besora striped shorts – £210, Tom Ford glasses – £259, Kurt Geiger sandals – £75, Wouters & Hendrix necklace – £408.52, Madewell tote – £112.67

For this outfit it was all about teaming classic staple pieces with fun and quirky accessories to add a sense of uniqueness and personality. Olivia Palermo was the key inspiration; she always manages to look effortlessly polished while still incorporating a fun element into her wardrobe, whether it be with a pop of colour around her neck or a playful pair of pumps. This outfit is a mix of high-end designers so oozes quality yet requires an investment. It may be a cliche on a sailing trip to wear stripes, but somehow nautical always seem classic and on-trend. A simple white cami top like this Tibi one allows you to have fun with your accessories- taking the blue from the shorts and using this shade for accessorizing makes the whole look more pulled together. Using an aquatic inspired coloured palette seems perfect for sailing around the Greek islands, more importantly this look will take you from day to night.

SIGHTSEEING AROUND PARIS

Paris look

Splendid navy jersey top – £124, Studio Nicholson trousers – £245, Vintage Chanel bag – £2,700, Stella McCartney overzised cat eye glasses – £150.89

Paris is arguably the chicest capital around. The street style looks on display are timeless; minimal shapes and subtle shades adorn the Parisian cobbled streets. Undone hair and an an almost androgynous appearance is portrayed by Parisian women. There is a sense of elegance in the most effortless way. So for this look, I related it with what I feel represents a classic French look; think muted tones, boxy shapes, a vintage Chanel bag and a fun but simple patterned shoe to add a quirky undertone.

COCKTAILS IN NEW YORK

New york look

Peridot London leather skirt – £370, Topshop lace scallop cami – £16, Sophie Hulme bag – £295, Anton Heunis floral motif necklace – £345, Paul Andrew court shoes – £740

New York City has to be one of my favourite places to visit and I’m sure most of you will agree. I’m yet to experience it’s renowned nightlife but I feel this outfit would be a hit in a cool, NYC bar. The leather skirt adds a tough and edgy look which is something I definitely link with the city; adding a simple black cami makes the look feel more casual allowing the accessories to speak for themselves. This Sophie Hulme bag is sophisticated while still looking playful, and the statement necklace in similar colors ties in nicely. Finish the look with cute leopard print heel to add just the right amount of print and colour clash.

SHOPPING IN LONDON

London look

Acne leather biker jacket – £1, 050, Carven paisley shirt dress – £357, Topshop fedora hat – £25, Rachel Zoe monk strap oxfords – £264.90, Rebecca Minkoff mini tote – £130.77

London has to be one of the most eclectic capital in terms of fashion. From preppy to punk there’s always an exciting buzz for the fashion around the vast city, but shopping in London can come with its challenges. You will probably want to look fashionable while still incorporating that all-important comfort factor. In my eyes, this oufit combines this perfectly- the Paisley printed Carven shirt is a great statement piece dressed up or down. Pairing it with a leather biker jacket, black monk shoes, a fedora hat and a bag in a slightly different hue makes it stylish yet incredibly relaxed.

BEACH DAY IN THAILAND

Thailand look

Topshop tie dye kimono – £60, Prism black bikini – £115 + £63, Topshop burgundy backpack – £36, Ancient Greek sandals – £190

Thailand is a dream destination of mine to visit. I haven’t had the pleasure of going yet, but I see it as a cultural hot spot- one with white sandy beaches, several desirable excursions to experience and plenty of nightlife. This look will enable you to hit the beach, go shopping and will even make a great outfit for the well-know Full Moon party. This tie-dye tasseled kimono is a great throw-over; the print is bold yet the colours are subtle allowing you to mix and match with other options. A simple black bikini will go with everything, so have fun with accessories and choose a cool backpack and some metallic sandals for a relaxed, boho look.
