Packing checklist: what to take on your tropical getaway

Crane Beach Barbados

A tropical getaway is probably one of the best holidays you can go on. There’s nothing quite like relaxing by the pool of a resort in the Bahamas! Wherever you’re going though, forgetting to pack the most important tropical items could possibly ruin your holiday of a lifetime. To save you this hassle, here is a checklist of everything you should be taking on your tropical getaway. If you’re reading this list and you suddenly realise that you don’t have these items, you can head straight to your favourite clothing store such as Universal Store to get them right now!

A great swimsuit

You probably don’t need to hear how important it is to bring along your best swimsuit, but nonetheless here we go: don’t forget your swimsuit! Don’t think that it needs to be a bikini either – there are so many one pieces out there that look just a stylish as bikinis. You can also get great 50s style bikinis that come right up to the middle of your belly. They look so stylish and are so in fashion right now – you’ll look great on your holiday! Make sure your swimsuit is flattering to your body and your skin tone – the photos you take while travelling will last a lifetime, so you want to look your absolute best!

Sunglasses

While you’re lazing poolside of your resort, you’re not going to want the sun in your eyes, wrecking the beautiful moment. Before you leave for your tropical getaway, ensure you’ve got a pair of sunglasses that look great with your bikini and actually work to block the sun from your eyes. However, you can always get a pair while you’re over there – souvenirs here and there are so important!

A sun hat

Floppy sunhats look so great and are really quite practical. You’ll look fabulous, and stop your face from getting sunburnt! Think of Samantha in the Sex and The City Movie – she looked so good. Admit it – you wanted to be her just a little bit! Get yourself a sunhat and embrace your inner Samantha.

A nice sundress

While walking from your room to the pool, you might not want to just wear your swimsuit – so get a sundress! They’re easy to wear, just throw them on over the top. They look so carefree and beautiful. You can find them everywhere. Beach stores at any shopping centre or mall will have them – or this could be another thing you buy while on holiday!

A pair of thongs

Flip flops, jandals, thongs – whatever you want to call them, make sure you have a pair for your holiday. You’ll live in them – probably wear them every day while you’re away. So don’t get caught without them!

Tropical getaways are so much fun, so before you go ensure you have everything you’re going to need! If you stick to this checklist, you can’t go wrong. Even if you intend to buy things over there, make sure you bring a cheap version from home with you just in case you can’t find what you’re after. Happy holidaying!
