Mont Bleu Glass Files

Review: Mont Bleu Crystal Nail Files

Mont Bleu Nail Tools

I have to admit. I usually travel with a cheap, run-of-the-mill nail kit. A foam buffer, some clippers and a standard emery board. I like to paint my nails in bright, fun colours for my holidays but I’m often in a rush and don’t always give my nails the attention they deserve.

Mont Bleu asked if I would like to try out some of their glass nail products and sent over a few items for review. They make durable, versatile nail files made from Czech tempered glass and decorated with Swarovski crystals- a step up from the utensils I usually use! The Czech Republic has been famed throughout the world for its glass products, so these are really of high quality.

Here’s what arrived: pretty pink glass nail files with Swarovski crystals in 2 different sizes, a glass foot file, a glass cuticle stick and a ‘hard case nail file‘, which has a solid handle and is protected for those who travel a lot. It looks a little bit like a knife, but it’s a nail file!

So I set about giving myself a luxury manicure and pedicure using my new, much more glamorous tools.

A few weeks ago I had Shellac done for my holiday but it had all started to chip off, so I removed it with acetone and set about filing my nails. I found the glass files very strong in my hand and easy to use, plus they look really nice!

I soon filed down my nails, and buffed the hard skin off my feet using the glass file, then pushed my cuticles back. These feel like proper industry tools and are very effective. Personally I like the larger crystal one but I can see that the hard case file would be perfect for travel because it’s small and has a case, so it’s easy to carry around in a bag.

After that, it was just a case of buffing my nails up and painting them with my new peach Kiko polish!

I’m a complete convert and will definitely be shunning my old tools in favour of Mont Bleu next time I go abroad.
