Painting the Town Red in the Top End – Trips to Darwin

Anyone that has spent the last two weeks or so visiting some of the more iconic sites in the Northern Territory including Uluru and Kakadu National Park may be thinking it is time to visit the exciting city of Darwin. Indeed, what could be more perfect than finishing of an exhilarating albeit fairly exhausting tour of NT places of interest than spending the last leg of our Territory journey in the capital city.

Of course, the first thing couples or independent travellers who have been wearing trekking gear for a few weeks will want to do once they reach Darwin is dress up for a good old-fashioned night out on the town. And whether we go to the Waterfront Precinct in the city or pop down to the northern suburbs of Nightcliff and Rapid Creek, we are sure to have a fantastic time. For sure, weary travellers who cannot wait to replace their hiking boots with comfortable walking shoes will be more than ready to experience the charming nightlife of the Northern Territory’s capital city.

Dining Out

There are a number of things to take into consideration when choosing a place to stay in whilst enjoying a final fling in the Northern Territory with a weekend in the capital city of Darwin. Apart from making sure the hotel we book offers the kinds of provisions we would expect in a nice hotel, it would be wise to find a place that is close to all the action. Indeed, when looking online for hotel accommodation in Darwin, it pays to be prudent when going through all the available options. Of course, rushing with this kind of decision making will usually lead to either disappointment or sheer frustration on missing out on what could have been a much more exciting weekend in the capital.

Food lovers determined to dine at some of Darwin’s finest restaurants and other eateries are bound to search the internet for websites providing well-researched blogs on dining out that will whet their appetite. There are very good sources of information for people planning to eat their way around Darwin as they come to the end of their fabulous stay in the Northern Territory of Australia.

Dancing Queens

Ladies who feel they have not really looked their best as they travel around the Australian outback in their quest to experience the real Australia are likely to want to put on their best dress and fancy shoes in preparation for a girl’s night out in Darwin.

Night crawling travellers on their last leg of their Northern Territory tour looking for places to party hard in the capital have certainly got a lot of options to choose from including the ones listed below:

  • Globe Trotters Bar and Lodge
  • Lizards outdoor bar and grill
  • The Rox Music Lounge
  • Tzars Vodka Bar
  • The Tap on Mitchell

If we have had the time of our lives trekking around NT, Australia, we will want to finish off our trip in style. Of course, in order to do so, fun-loving travellers should search for places to have a good night out with their travelling companions. Single tourists hoping to find someone special on their last night may get lucky if they find someone in an equally romantic frame of mind. In fact, some people enjoying a weekend in Darwin may be so impressed with the city that they decide to extend their visit to the capital city of the Territory.
